If you were left unsatisfied by your rental with Avis, Budget or Budget Truck, please give us the chance to address the situation and keep your business. The quickest and most efficient way to resolve an issue is to bring it to the attention of one of our employees at the rental location when you pick up or return your vehicle. If, for any reason, you are unable to resolve the issue at the rental location, the next step is to contact our customer service center.

To allow us to provide you with the best possible service, please be prepared to provide our customer service representative with complete details about your rental:

  • Renter’s name
    (The name on the rental agreement)
  • Your contact information, including how you would like us to get back to you
    (For example, by telephone, in writing via standard mail or electronic mail)
  • Rental agreement number
  • Rental pick-up location
  • Rental pick-up and drop-off date
  • The details of your concern or complaint

If you choose to get in touch with us via telephone, please make sure you have sufficient time so that our customer service representative can look into all the details surrounding your case to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. If you choose to get in touch with us via electronic mail, please allow three business days for a response.

Although we recommend email or telephone as the fastest way to get your case resolved, standard mail is acceptable, but please allow more time for our representatives to receive your letter and look into the details surrounding your rental. Please be sure to include the following information in your correspondence:

  • Renter’s name

Correct and complete information is very important in order for customer service to resolve your case quickly. In many cases, delays in responding to and resolving customer inquiries are the result of inaccurate or omitted important information.

Please note that rentals handled by locations not owned or operated by Avis Budget Group (such as independently owned and operated licensees or international locations) may require additional time for response and resolution.

Escalating Your Case

If you have been in touch with customer service, but are not satisfied either with the proposed resolution or with the quality of service you received from one of our customer service representatives, you can choose to escalate your inquiry to a member of customer service management by asking to speak with a supervisor.

If you have already been in touch with customer service and attempted to resolve your case, and are still unsatisfied with how your case was handled or the resolution that was proposed, below is a link to a form that will escalate your customer service inquiry to the Office of the President, where your case will be re-opened for executive-level review.
